LEATHER CARE & CLEANING
All Omega Racer leather seats are made out of a high quality, top grade, genuine leather hides. Leather is a natural material, small variations in colour, texture, and markings are to be expected. The seats will require regular maintenance to maintain the leather. We recommend using leather care products to protect and condition the leather. A leather conditioner will enhance the waterproof properties of your seat but it will not make it immune to water damage, so take special care not to leave it out in the rain or remain wet for an extended period of time. Leather is also vulnerable to prolonged sun exposure. Please cover your seat if necessary. If properly cared for, these seats will age gracefully, taking on a deep, rich patina over time.
How to clean your leather seat?
Begin rubbing the leather with the rag in circular motions, adding a little extra elbow grease to areas that appear stained. When this is complete, use a dry rag to blot any access water or soap so that it does not dry on the leather. Let the seat dry naturally. Do not use a heater to speed up the drying process.
As soon as the seat is dry, begin the leather conditioning process. Water and soap are great for cleaning leather, however, they also tend to dry it out. Dry leather will crack and eventually begin to fade. Therefore following a good cleaning with a good conditioning is a very important step while treating motorcycle seats.
Always let the conditioner dry naturally as well. The entire process should take no longer than an hour. An hour every few weeks can add years to the lifespan of a leather motorcycle seat.
What our customers say
Leather seat research paid off
My leather Triumph Street Twin arrived today and I couldn’t be more pleased. I spent many nights looking at seat images, colors, and designs. Had many questions for Markus along the way and he was very helpful. The difficulty is deciding on a seat without actually being able to see it in person. Markus makes this journey a smooth one. He understands this and goes out of his way to address your concerns. Once I finally pulled the trigger, I could hardly wait to get the seat and see it installed.
The color is perfect (brown with a slight reddish tint) and the leather quality better than expected. The seat gave me exactly what I envisioned; better comfort and a higher ride height (I’m 6’1” and needed something to increase my leg angle to pegs). I haven’t tested the comfort for a long ride yet but can confirm the seat is more comfortable than stock and fits more securely than stock seat. It definitely changes the ride geometry (in a good way for me). B.Owen-Baine
